REFLEXOLOGY Maria Chrysostomou 07730 039038

People may think of reflexology as a pampering foot massage, but it is so much more.
It is a holistic treatment for body and mind, as well as for the feet.
What is reflexology?

Reflexology is the practise of applying pressure with the fingers and thumbs to reflex points on the feet that relate to all organs, glands and parts of the body.

Applying pressure to these reflexes works to restore and maintain the body's natural balance, creating a feeling of vitality and well-being.

There are hundreds of nerve endings in the feet which run alongside energy pathways throughout the body, and through stimulation of these nerve endings is one way that reflexology may work.

The trained hands of a reflexologist can detect tiny deposits in the feet which may indicate imbalances within the body and it's systems. Working these points can help to release tension and restore the free flow of energy, helping to induce the body's natural healing ability; physically, emotionally and mentally.

Regular reflexology treatments can help the body deal with the effects of stress, injury and disease. To a reflexologist tension and congestion are mirrored in the feet, so by working the feet we are sending messages throughout all the systems of the body which encourages healing throughout.

In reflexology we view the person as a whole and help to support them through illness and times of stress and anxiety; this is acheived by increasing relaxation, releasing stress and tension, improving sleep and thereby improving mood, increasing circulation, and increasing our sense of self worth and well-being.
